Garlic is typically classified into two main categories: hardneck and softneck. Hardneck garlics, like the Purple Stripe, Marbled Purple Stripe, and Rocambole varieties, are known for their robust flavors and are very cold hardy, thriving best in cooler climates. Softneck garlics, such as the Artichoke and Silverskin types, are more adaptable to a range of climates and are commonly found in grocery stores due to their longer shelf life.
