Unique French Heirloom that is perfect for making sauce. It produces tasty meaty fruits that are 6-10 ounce and slightly flattened and lobed. It is a great slicing tomato and does well in cool areas.

Marmande is often listed by seed companies as “dry farm recommended,” meaning it performs well in low-irrigation field conditions rather than requiring intensive watering. It is not a true dry-farming tomato in the sense of being specifically bred or selected for production on stored soil moisture alone, but it can tolerate moderate water stress once established. In practice, it is a reliable open-field beefsteak type that can still set and ripen fruit under reduced irrigation, with flavour often improving when water is not excessive.
