Ropreco Paste

A reliable old Italian heirloom built for the kitchen. Ropreco Paste produces an impressive yield of plump, 2–3 oz red fruits with a characteristic pointed blossom end — arriving earlier than San Marzano and performing exceptionally well in short or cool-summer seasons, where it can easily outpace Roma varieties.

Stocky plants reach about 1 m tall, need no staking, and carry good resistance to Fusarium wilt and blossom end rot. The oval fruits have sweet, mildly floury flesh that breaks down beautifully for sauces, pastes, and canning — though the flavour is notably good eaten fresh as well, setting it apart from most paste types.
