Norwegian heirloom that is the same type of pea discovered in Viking graves dating back to 800 AD. Need support as it grow to 4-5′. Small pods with a distinctive rib and a light purple hue before drying. Each pod contains 6–8 deeply purple-grey to black peas with green speckling. Prolific and ideal for soups. A true heirloom treasure! Rare. 65 dtm. 35 seeds per package.

I was so excited to find these seeds at Heritage Hobby Seed Ark. They are such an amazing pea and piece of history!

I almost lost the crop to some insect or worms eating them in the garden. After applying a heavy amount of Diatomaceous earth, the remaining plants survived and thrived!
