The Aztek Micro Dwarf Tomato is a compact, open-pollinated variety originating from the Czech Republic. Bred for small spaces and container gardening, this plant reaches a mature height of only 8 inches (20 cm), making it ideal for windowsills, balconies, and indoor cultivation. Can be grown in the bottom of grow towers also! Its diminutive size belies its productivity, as it produces abundant small, yellow, cherry-type tomatoes that weigh approximately 15–20 grams each. The vibrant yellow fruit have a distinctive small “nipple” or dimple at the bottom of each fruit.
This determinate variety is highly prized for its sweet, juicy, and mildly fruity flavour, which makes it perfect for snacking, salads, and garnishing dishes. The plant features regular rugose foliage and requires minimal care. No pruning or staking is necessary, simplifying cultivation for both novice and experienced gardeners.
Aztek is an early producer, with fruits ripening around 65–70 days after transplanting. It thrives in pots as small as 3–4 litres and can be grown outdoors during the growing season or indoors year-round, even during winter months, under sufficient light.
While not classified as an heirloom, Aztek is open-pollinated, allowing gardeners to save seeds for future planting. Its compact growth habit, striking yellow fruit, and ease of care have made it a popular choice among micro dwarf enthusiasts and urban gardeners alike.
