Jay’s Soup Bean Seeds

$4.00

I have grown this soup bean for many years and can not recall where it came from now. I have been searching for some info on this variety and there is nothing anywhere to be found. I like this dry bean and somehow it has managed to survive all my moves. Grows on a bush plant with green pods. Shorter season as it always dries down reliably for me. Extremely rare, may be endangered as there is no info anywhere about this variety. Freshly harvest seed is white with maroon striped markings. As the bean ages, it turns a reddish brown. 25 seeds per package.

Phaseolus vulgaris

If anyone has any information on this bean variety I would love to know more. There had to be some important reason why I acquired it, as I am very picky about what I grow and there is always something important or unique about the seeds I save.

These bush bean seeds are available directly from Garden Faerie Botanicals in the heart of British Columbia, Canada. The collection features heirloom and heritage seeds that are personally cultivated organically without the use of any chemicals. Emphasizing historical, rare, non-GMO seeds, this selection preserves biodiversity through open-pollination.
