Woods Earliest Prolific Seeds

$5.00

An early, bush variety with a superb scallop shape. This plant stays small and remains edible longer than most. Sandhill Preservation Center obtained the seed from the National Seed Storage Lab in the early 1980s. They grew it out and shared around for a while. However, as the Sandhill squash collection expanded, this variety was somewhat forgotten. A rediscovered package from 1987 was found in the freezer, and upon growing it again, it proved to be a true treasure.

I grew this variety this past summer and was amazed at how prolific it was. Even when fruit had gone to seed on the plant, it continued to pump out more squash! Very buttery and delicious. Scallops/Patty Pans. Extremely rare. 50 dtm. 10 seeds per package
